Middletown Real Estate & Homes for Sale in Maryland

Middletown: The historic community of Middletown is ideally located in the scenic foothills of Middletown Valley. Middletown is just far enough from the cities of Baltimore and Washington, DC to offer a perfect balance between lively commerce and pastoral beauty. Since the mid-17th century the community has been home to a unique blend of farmers and ranchers, tradesmen and craftsmen, businessmen and clergymen. The Revolutionary War and the Civil War passed through this richly historic area. The land we know as downtown Middletown was originally part of the Calvert Land Warrant of August 4, 1750 and on March 3, 1767 the land was formally identified as the Town of Middletown - fully ten years before the American Revolution. Although it provides a firsthand glimpse into the nation’s past, Middletown is far from being left behind the times. Students are served by the outstanding Frederick County Public School District, home to several Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence. The area also offers great parks and golf courses for those wishing to get outside and play in the area’s renowned natural beauty. Real estate is diverse, with single-family homes, condominiums and townhouses thoughtfully designed to complement the landscape. Legend has it that as a young lieutenant George Washington surveyed the area and commented that the Middletown Valley was one of the most beautiful places he had ever seen. Once you move here, you will certainly agree.
